The 5th Validation of Prior Learning Biennale took place in Kilkenny from 6-8 May 2024. Over a period of three days, we met colleagues from 31 countries across 5 continents who individually and collectively celebrated RPL through a series of insightful, and often inspiring, concurrent sessions, lightning talks, round table sessions and panel discussions. Through the exploration of approaches to validation, systems used and the potential they offer, we learned from each others experiences as we considered the impact of RPL for individuals and inclusion, for societies, and for skills development and mobility.
